The site is approximately 2.3 acres, with 656 ft. of waterfront on Shuswap Lake in South Central British Columbia. The property is mostly wetland with rushes and reeds, grasses and vines, willows, cottonwood and masses of forget-me-nots. 

In May/June, deer, muskrat, geese, ducks and an amazing variety of birds visit or inhabit the site.

The floors contain hot water radiant heat in 2" deep concrete slabs.

The concrete was colored with oxide pigment in with the aggregate and it was over finished with an electric trowel so that the blades began to overheat and created a beautiful marbled effect. The concrete was then saw-cut into approx. 24" squares and later grouted. 

The main house has 3 levels (in 7.5 inch drops) to allow the central kitchen to overlook the other "public" areas. All interior doors are glazed with frosted glass to borrow light into the core. Interior windows are used for the same effect.

 The main house is 2,740 sq. ft. all on one level and the guest house is 1500 sq. ft on two levels. There are 3,560 sq. ft. of open deck area. The footprint of the entire structure is 7000 sq. ft.

The post and beam structure is very simple, the greatest span of the timber trusses being 24ft. 

Some forest fire killed fir was found for the timbers and a local log-builder cut and assembled the frame.
